SPRING 2020 REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON DECEMBER 1ST!
Age/Grade: Girls grades 5-6 (12U) who have played the game for a few seasons and have grasped concepts of the game well and would like more of a challenge, also adding on one more day to their practice schedule. This is the more advanced 12U team. These kids are moving out of, or have competely aged out of the foundations stage of lacrosse and into the emerging competition stage. This stage is the time for developing even stronger technical skills and the dawning of tactical awareness. The onset of adolescent growth spurts makes it an ideal time for endurance training, which we will introduce. Players will also be gradually challenged to advance their technical skills and dive into position-specific techniques within a centered team environment.
Format: Each week, we will focus on multiple skills of the game as they can better handle multiple focuses and spend a higher percentage of time on team based concepts, skills, plays, settled and transitional offense and defense. We will spend time each practice on physical literacy, improving each kid's fundamental movement skills as well.
Practices: Before daylight savings, we will be on Saturdays and Sundays. After daylight savings, we will move to Mon, Wed, Thurs.
