SPRING 2020 REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON DECEMBER 1ST!
Age/Grade: For girls and boys who are in K-2 and very new to the sport, in the discovery stage. This is for the kid who would like to be introduced to the sport in a fun and engaging way, learning the fundamentals to provide them the basic knowledge and skill set to continue on their lacrosse journey.
If you think your kid is in 1-2 grade and needs more of a challenge, please see the other boys + girls options for this age group.
Format: Each week, we will focus on a different tactical skills of the game, as building blocks in a station based practice. Tactical skills include ground balls, cradling + stick protection, catching + passing, shooting + faking, dodging, defensive positioning, offensive concepts, clears + the draw (girls)/face-off (boys). We will spend time each practice on physical literacy, improving each kid's fundamental movement skills as well. Girls and boys will warm-up together and split for skills stations (pending numbers).
Skills Sessions: Saturdays from 9:00-10:00a
Location: Carmel Road Park - MAP
Equipment Needed: Stick, shoes (cleats recommended as we are on grass), athletic clothes, mouthguard and water. Please note that we use soft balls so no other equipment is needed at this introductory level (i.e. helmets, goggles etc.).
