SPRING 2020 REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON DECEMBER 1ST!
Age/Grade: Boys grades 3-4 (10U). This is a fun, focused and enhanced atmosphere where they will learn and build onto the key fundamentals of lacrosse while being challenged to hone in on field concepts and competition at a faster pace. These boys are in the "golden age" of learning and sport skill development. boys in this stage become less self-centered and are able to reflect on their actions and learn from their mistakes for the greater good of the team. This is the optimal time to build a large repertoire of lacrosse-specific skills and learn the basic principles of play in a fun, challenging environment.
Format: Each week, we will focus on tactical skills and an increased amount of decision-making concepts in a competitive environment. We will focus on drills for tactical skills for more touches on the ball for each player but split into teams to work on settled and transitional concepts as a group so they can work on team chemistry and increasing their lacrosse IQ. Tactical skills include ground balls, cradling + stick protection, catching, passing, shooting + faking, dodging, defensive positioning, offensive concepts, clears and the draw while adding in more competition and situational focused stations. We will spend time each practice on physical literacy, improving each kid's fundamental movement skills as well.
Practices: Before daylight savings, we will be on Saturdays and Sundays. After daylight savings, we will move to Tuesdays + Thursdays.
